The founders of the charity, Gary and Nicky Welsh, moved to Durban in January 2007 which has led Ukuthasa to broaden its area of operation beyond the Western Cape of South Africa to the whole of Africa. It's a change that is enabling us to help community projects in the Durban area (Kwazulu Natal), other parts of South Africa and different African countries such as Zambia to which Gary travels regularly. Ukuthasa will continue to work closely with existing projects in the Western Cape.

Child Sponsorship Programme

We are delighted at the success of our child sponsorship programme which was introduced in 2007 for Grade R children at Emyezweni Pre-School. The aim is to give each child the support he or she needs to continue with their studies and encourage them to progress to primary school education. Sponsor a child today!
